Platycerium holttumii

This is staghorn fern, Platycerium holttumii. It is highly exotic, being native to southeast Asia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam. This specimen is pictured in the Bagonia hothouse, within the Wellington Botanic gardens.

Pyrrosia

Pyrrosia eleagnifolia, I am really obsessed with this plant at the moment, and seem to keep on seeing it creeping up trees everywhere

Coprosma acerosa - Sand Coprosma

Acaena eaesiiglauca - Silver New Zealand Burr

Metrosideros carminea - Crimson Rata

Once again, Pyrrosia eleagnifolia, this specimen interestingly growing on a concrete step.

Pyrrosia eleagnifolia

Pyrrosia eleagnifolia (leather-leaf fern), while common this fern is a very beautiful and elegant (as suggested in it's species) epiphyte, that is found in both natural bush and planted areas throughout New Zealand. This example was found on Upland road, Kelburn in Wellington.
