Green wall

This green wall project, was initiated with the goal of creating small scale, and low priced green walls, for people living in confined urban areas. The overall form is built using recycled plastic pallets as a structure, then filling this with soil beneath a coconut fibre, and mesh edge. Throughout this simple system there is a irrigation network that links into the guttering catchment that lines the to side, allowing for rain water collection as well as making watering easier. The plants are then planted in at around 30 degree angles to allow for semi upright growth. If the desired positioning of the green wall is reletively unexposed, the green wall can be used for edible vegetation, yet if the area is exposed, it is more plausible to instal hardier plants such Pimelia prostrata.
